Just a little facelift

February 23, 2012 in Adult ADHD Isn't a Bad Thing, Just Life

I finally did some re-blog-decorating; and only 2 years after telling everyone not to get attached. Like a poorly oiled machine, that’s me!

Randomly plotting– get it? Scattermom— scatter plot* **. No correlation? Nonlinear? Random?

Scattermom, JB, and the Small People

*OMG, y’all! Online Cliff’s notes! Have I ever mentioned that I used these, without a single ounce of shame, during my english major days?

** Yes I do understand that my application is a statistical impossibility. It’s funny, not literal. Move on.

*** Yes, the original picture has E in a prisoner shirt. No, of course I didn’t notice that he had switched torso when I was setting up/taking the picture. This would be an excellent example of the overlooked detail that plagues most of the ADHD folk.

Meh- who wants to be pigeon-holed by a blog brand? I am more than a mom-blogger, a DIY-blogger, a craft-blogger, an ADHD-blogger. I am all of those things–plus a few dozen more. I’d hate to get bored limit myself. Cough.

Listen, I accepted my geek a long time ago– not as early as JB (quiz bowl, dude? really). As a natural order of loving my inner geek and mom-ing*** two boys, I have fallen in love with legos (as long as they are sorted by color, dammit!)

*** Most of my days finds “mom” to be more verb than noun, thus my use of -ing is totally appropriate.

Z and I went to the lego store one afternoon for some quality time. However, once he saw that the computers had some version of the lego star wars game, he wanted nothing to do with me. Outwardly I was all, “oh, are you sure”, but inwardly I was all, YIPPPPEEEE.

I very carefully selected the little bits for the family minifigs. Then I moved on to the brick wall– just me, and the I still live in my parents’ basement even though I’m 45 guy. Soon we were joined by the Lego doesn’t pay me, but I volunteer my time to them anyway 20-year-old. Good times.

The house that you can sort of see behind my little minifig family? Totally built it when one kid was gone, and the other one was asleep. Just me, the legos, and NCIS. Oh, and the back wall of the house swings open on hinges. It’s those extra touches, people.

When he woke up, E added some bricks to represent the new kitchen cabinets. White bricks, with little minifig coffee cups. *weep*

Maybe I’ll get around to updating the about me section next. I tried (no, really) to learn how to draw, so I could do a cartoon affect, you know? By the way– using the track pad on a laptop ranks as the most inefficient way to accomplish a drawing goal. The result is hilarious, if JB’s snot-spraying snort of laughter is any indication.

What can I say? I’m not bored, which means I’m happy. A happy scattermom remembers to play hide-n-seek. She forgets to make dentist appointments, but whatever.
